Though a human rights Organization, CDHR continues to play a leading role in championing the cause of restoring Nigeria to the path of genuine and popular democracy.

To defend, sustain and promote fundamental human rights guaranteed in the Nigerian Constitution, the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights
Partnership
To ally with other organizations committed to the ideals of a Nigerian society founded on participatory democracy and social justice.

To campaign for the full implementation of human rights-particularly, cultural, economic and social rights.
Improvement
To campaign for, promote and support legislations and other activities that are geared towards the improvement of human rights in Nigeria.
Advocate
To advocate for the ratification and implementation of all international _ 'conventions and obligations aimed at promoting in Nigeria.
Research
To create and support research centres and programmes for the study, teaching and monitoring of human rights in Nigeria.
